Before painting, I removed the non-slip pads that were stuck on the steps cause they were peeling off anyway. However, under them I found a lot of rust so I needed to add a quick coat of white primer. Then I spray painted it blue.
While drying, I traced the non-slip pads onto the back of the non-adhesive Con-tact Grip Prints that I had left over from lining my pots and pans cabinet. Although I wasn't exactly sure how to stick it down, I knew I needed to cover the steps because I hadn't been able to scrub all the adhesive off after pulling off the non-slip pads.
After the paint was dry I set the Con-tact Grip Prints down on the steps to see how it was going to look. I loved it and then after my daughter tried it out I realized that there was enough adhesive left on the steps to hold the new grip print paper down. Project done. And now I love to leave it up to the kitchen table for my daughter. Now to paint the kitchen table.
