Tis the Season!

One thing that really excites me is a great deal.  And one of the best places to get a good deal is from garage sales or off of Craigslist.  I love the convenience of Craigslist--I even have an app on my phone for Craiglist, which I think is better than the website.  And you have just come to the best times of the year to start looking--December 26th.  Once everyone has gotten what they wanted for Christmas, they are ready to get rid of the old and move the new into place.  Right after Christmas Craiglist is flooded with items for sale.  Sometimes it can take some patience but I've always found what I wanted and it's definitely been worth the wait.  And with the increased volume after Christmas you have more choices and better bargaining to get a great deal!

Here's a couple of tips:

1) Their asking price is often negotiable. Make sure if your are going to counter offer, do it when you are agreeing on the sale and not when you are standing at the door to pick the item up from them. Everyone deserves respect and you need to respect the price you agreed on.

2) Frequent the Free section.  Yes there is a lot of junk available for free, but I have also found some Amazing things that some people would prefer to just give away.  (The Free section is where I found my bedrail that we put on my oldest daughter's bed when she was 22 months old. It was in great condition and a huge blessing since she had climbed out of her crib and wouldn't stay in it anymore and had to transition immediately to a big girl bed.)

Happy Shopping!
